Festival of Mandorolo in fiore 2 to 5 August (annual festival) - City of Agrigento
The Almond Blossom Festival was born in Naro (AG) in 1934. The purpose was to promote local products Agrigentan thus providing a tool for the launch and marketing of some typical Sicilian products.
The festival offered from the beginning various events related event such as car rallies, car racing, runners, Sicilian carts parades, performances of folk groups.
In 1954 the festival has broadened its horizons by extending the invitation to attend the event in European folk groups, and coined the "International Festival of Folklore", in 1961 the festival will arricchiste the presence of folkloric groups overseas.
The Almond Blossom Festival starts in the Valley of the Temples of Friendship with the lighting of the Olympic flame in front of the Temple of Concord, and ends in the Valley of the Temples with the awarding of the groups participating in the festival.
